When my boys were younger I loved to take them outside to learn and play. One of my boys is very physical and hands on and struggles to learn in a typical school type of setting. He’s a very kinesthetic learner. So, he looked forward to our outside days the most. And he really loved learning colors when we would have a learning colors scavenger hunt.

Begin by hot glueing clothespins to your board. I used a baking sheet from the dollar store. You could even paint your clothespins to match the color chip if you want. But, I liked to use our boards for other activities too, so I left the clothespins unpainted.
Then, clip the colored paint chips onto the board. You could also write the color on the paint ship to help with letter and word recognition.
Now, grab your storage bag and your color board and go on a fun Summer color scavenger hunt. You could walk through the woods or even on the beach or local park.
That’s it! This is such a fun activity. And, I hope it has inspired you to play this learning colors scavenger hunt game with your little ones.
