Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath Project

Let’s learn how to make this adorable Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath Project! This activity is super fun and easy to make. Yet the results look really wonderful and should make your children or students very proud of the finished project. I was able to make one wreath with just a few sheets of construction paper! Valentine’s Day Heart Wreath Project

Supplies:

• Several sheets of pink and red construction paper.
• Glue. 
• Scissors.
• Paper Plate.
• Pencil
• Optional – Ribbon or Twine.

Start this project out by cutting out the center of the paper plate. This piece can be thrown away or saved for future projects.

Now, you are ready to cut out lots of paper hearts. I stacked two sheets of construction paper and folded them into three sections lengthwise. Then, I folded them in half one more time lengthwise. Next, I drew a light outline of half a heart on the fold, fitting as many hearts as I could along the fold. I repeated those steps one more time with two more sheets of paper and I had more than enough hearts for the whole project.

Now, unfold all of the little hearts and set them aside.

Next, add a little bit of glue to the rim of the paper plate. We used a paint brush to spread the glue around better.

Then, before the glue dries add a few paper hearts. Layer them so the paper plate is fully covered.

Add more glue and more hearts until the plate is covered in hearts. Then, layer more hearts on top each other to add more color and dimension.

Finally, add a ribbon or twine to the back of the paper plate if you want.
