I love little gnomes. But, as much as I love them, I really think they are best for Valentine’s Day or Spring decor. So, when we take down our holiday and winter decorations, we bring out a few cute little gnomes. And, friends, this simple paper gnome craft project is perfect for Valentine’s Day decorating and crafting!
Valentine Gnome Craft Project

Gnome Supplies:
- Red and white construction paper.
- Pink pom pom.
- Yarn.
- Scissors.
- School glue.
- Tape.
This cute little gnome can be made with any size paper. But, we used construction paper to make ours. And, it’s a great family craft night activity!
Begin by cutting out a cone shape from the red (or even pink) construction paper. Use this cone template from our Simple Yarn Tree Craft to make your project easier. After you finish cutting it out, roll it into a cone shape and secure with tape or glue.

Next, cut a small piece of white paper into a beard shape. You could even cut it into a heart shape! Then, glue it onto the cone.
While you wait for the glue to dry on the paper gnome, use the yarn to make a pom pom for the tip of the hat. To do this, wrap the yarn around your fingers or a fork several times. Then use the yarn tail or a rubber band to secure it in the middle. Finally, snip the loops and trim to make a pom pom.
Finally, you can glue on the pink pom pom nose and homemade pom pom hat topper.

Now, you can add some Valentine’s Day stickers or embellishments. But, even if you don’t you will have the cutest gnome in the garden!
