This Sticker Tracing Fine Motor Activity is perfect for preschoolers to learn the letters in their name while perfecting their fine motor skills at the same time! Here’s what you’ll need.
Sticker Tracing Fine Motor Activity
Supplies:
- Bright colored paper.
- Pencil.
- Pen or marker.
- Small sticker. Smiley faces, stars, and hearts all work great.
Note: If you’re doing this project for a whole class, you can easily print out the names on paper instead to save some time. Just use a clean font, set the letter fill to none and the letter stroke to black and at least 3 pts. The name should fill up an 8.5 x 11 sheet of paper.
Start out by writing the child’s name in pencil nice and large on your paper, leaving a good amount of space between the letters. Then go around the letters with your pencil, turning them into bubble letters like shown. When you’re happy with the size (and can see that the stickers will fit inside the letters) go ahead and trace them with your marker.

When the marker is dry, erase all the pencil lines. If this is a project you want to have your child practice often, you can also scan the paper to print out extra copies. Now, grab your stickers. Let me show you a little trick to make getting those stickers off the sheet easier for those beginner fingers. Carefully peel the non-cut section of the sticker sheet off of the base paper. Start at a corner, and take it completely off.
This is one of my favorite tricks, but you can skip this for more advanced sticker users. Show your little one how to do the first sticker or two, and then watch them fill in their name!
See how cute! Stickers are a great way to encourage learning new things and incorporate fine motor and hand eye coordination skills. I hope your kids love doing this Sticker Tracing Fine Motor Activity!
