Sand Castle Texture Rubbing Project Supplies:
- Blue and white construction paper.
- School glue.
- Brown crayon.
- Fine grit sandpaper.
- Scissors.
- Optional – toothpicks and felt scraps.
As a native Floridian, I know that summer storms are nearly a daily occurrence. Because of that, we don’t make plans to be on the beach in the afternoons. But, this cute little sand castle craft is the perfect activity for rainy afternoons on the beach!
Let’s get started. First, gather your supplies. All of these supplies are easy to travel with, or purchase at a local dollar store once you arrive at the beach if you want to make a sand castle craft on vacation too!

Begin by cutting a sand castle shape out of a sheet of sandpaper. Then, layer the white construction paper over the sandpaper sand castle. Now, use the crayon to rub over the sandpaper sand castle.
Once you are done with the rubbing, cut it out.
Next, glue the sand castle rubbing onto the blue construction paper. You could also glue some real sand on the construction paper too!
Finally, if you have a little felt or scraps of colored paper and a tooth pick, cut the toothpick in half and cut out triangles from the paper. Then, glue small flags to the top of your adorable sand castle.
