Hi everyone! Can you tell I’ve been on a bit of a decorating kick lately? Today I’m going to teach you how to make this Recycled Toilet Paper Roll Flower Wall Art. You can use paper towel or toilet paper rolls, and this is a great way to turn one of our biggest sources of trash into something beautiful. Let’s get started!
Recycled Toilet Paper Roll Flower Wall Art
Supplies:
- Paper towel or toilet paper rolls.
- Craft paint. I chose black, but you can use any color that goes with your decor.
- Foam brush.
- Hot glue gun.
- Scissors.
- Pencil.
- Ruler.
- Sticky tack, command strips, or other art hanging supplies you prefer.
Start by flattening out your roll, creasing the two folds. The roll should pop back up like this.

You’ll want at least 4 paper towel sized rolls for a good sized piece of wall art. When they’re all creased, go ahead and paint the outside of the rolls black. I would suggest doing one side, letting it dry, and then doing the other side. Let the rolls dry throughly.
Now take your ruler and your pencil, and start making small marks every 3/4 inch along the length of the rolls. Then take your scissors and start cutting across the roll at each little mark. You’ll end up with these little petal shapes.
Keep cutting until you’ve cut all your rolls up. Now take a few minutes to play around with the petals. I liked the look of a 5 petal flower best, but you can make any style of flower you’d like. Now start gluing your petals together with hot glue.
Add one at a time until your flower is formed.

Now go ahead and make a whole bunch of flowers. When all your flowers are made, you can start working on your wall art design. I just started gluing together the petals of the different flowers like shown.
And I just kept adding flowers. You can even group three or more together to make little bunches. If you’re nervous about gluing as you go, you can even lay out your design ahead of time and then glue everything when you’re happy with your final design.
This is a very lightweight piece of art, so I was able to hang mine up just using sticky tack on the back of the flowers. You can use whatever hanging method you prefer though!
And here’s how it looks all done!! No one could ever guess looking at your wall that this was made from recycled toilet paper or paper towel rolls. It’s such a frugal way to make a custom piece of art for your walls. I hope you enjoyed learning how to make this Recycled Toilet Paper Roll Flower Wall Art today!
