Recycled Craft: Dinosaur Feet from Tissue Boxes

The most adorable Dot-osaurus you’re ever going to see. “Raaarr!”

We play a lot of dress up at our house, and we like to incorporate it into our kids’ crafts.  Right now my 4-year-old is VERY into dinosaurs.  Like, she can see a picture of one and tell you if it’s an Argentinosaurus or an Ankylosaurus or whatever other kind of -osaurus it might happen to be.  On this particular day, we made a dinosaur feet craft to round out a costume we already had.

What You Need to Make a Dinosaur Feet Craft

• Two tissue boxes
• Green construction paper
• White paper
• Scissors
• Glue (I used tape here, but I recommend glue)
• Pen/Pencil

Dinosaur Feet Supplies

Start by tracing the sides of your tissue boxes onto your construction paper.

To make two dinosaur feet, you need two pieces for the tops, four pieces for the long sides, and four pieces for the short sides of your tissue boxes.

Cut a large X into the two top pieces. This is where your kiddo’s feet will fit through. Affix them to the top of the box and add the other pieces to their corresponding sides.

Cut six white triangles to make your dinosaur’s claws and affix them to the top short edge of your dinosaur feet.

Insert feet through the Xes and into the tissue boxes. Then–and this is very important–stomp around the house while roaring!

What I Learned the Hard Way:

If I did this kids’ craft again, I would glue the construction paper to the tissue boxes instead of using tape.  The tape just didn’t hold up that well.
