One of my boys was born the day before Valentine’s Day, so we don’t typically have a lot of Valentine’s Day decor around the house. But, I love all of the holidays, so we would compromise and make a few small decorations for Valentine’s Day. And, this DIY Puzzle Piece Wreath was fun for everyone to make.

You could also use this project as a frame around one of our printable Valentine’s Day poems!
DIY Puzzle Piece Wreath Supplies:
- Puzzle Pieces – you can use old puzzles, but I just bought an inexpensive puzzle from the Dollar Store.
- Paint.
- Chipboard.
- Scissors or craft knife.
- Hot glue gun and glue.
- Optional – craft decorations and ribbon.
This is such a fun way to upcycle old puzzles. And, it’s a great way to work on fine motor skills with little ones.

Let’s get started on this fun DIY Puzzle Piece Wreath project! Begin by painting each puzzle piece. We used pink, red, and white paint for this project, but you can use whatever colors you prefer. This would be a great project for Autism Awareness Month too!
Now, while you wait for the paint to dry, cut the chipboard into a wreath shape. You can cut a circle, square, heart shape, or an oval. But, be sure to cut out the middle section as well.
Then, paint the wreath shape.
Once the paint is fully dry, you can use hot glue to add the puzzle pieces.
Then, after the pieces are on the wreath form, you can add a ribbon to the back to hang the wreath. You can also add craft decorations and ribbon on the front of the wreath if you want.
