The eight-day winter time celebration of Hanukkah or Chanukah begins on Thursday, December 10th this year. Also known as “feast of dedication,” “festival of lights,” of “feast of the Maccabees,” the celebration includes a nightly menorah lighting, special prayers and blessings, games and traditional foods. We are happy to share in this celebration with these printable Hanukkah cards. This collection includes a set of lovely illustrated cards, as well as blank greetings for your child to color. Gift a loved one this year a customized and personally colored card commemorating the Jewish festival.
Did you know that the word Hanukkah in Hebrew also means “dedication?” Find out more about the story behind the celebration in this educational article by Encyclopaedia Britannica on Hanukkah. The article includes a very informative (3-minute) video on the history of Hanukkah, the Jewish festival of lights.
