Presidents Day Ad Libs

Presidents Day started in 1800 as a way to commemorate the passing of our first president George Washington – 1 year after he died. But it became an ‘official’ holiday in 1879 in the District of Columbia. Today, there are so many presidents to celebrate that the holiday has expanded to include all of them. And the official title even lost its apostrophe! It’s no longer “President’s Day”, but the plural “Presidents Day”. But true to the history of this day, we still especially celebrate Washington and Lincoln, because their birthdays were on February 18 and February 12, respectively. These Presidents Day ad libs will help your students celebrate this historical holiday with a few giggles and laughs!
