Today I’m sharing how to make this Pony Bead Candy Corn Project! Candy corn is a fall favorite, and this is such a great beginner beading project. Pony Bead projects were super popular when I was in school, because you can clip on a keychain to make a cute zipper pull or decoration for your backpack. I’ll be sharing a few different pony bead projects over the next few weeks.

Supplies:
- Pony beads.
- Scissors.
- Lacing cord.
Start by separating out your chosen colors of beads. I used traditional white, yellow, and orange for my candy corn. Then cut a length of lacing cord. I used about 3 feet of cord, and always cut more than you think you’ll need. Lace one bead of your tip color onto the middle of your cord. Then add on two more beads. Take up the other end of your cord like shown.

Then thread it through those two beads in the opposite direction, like shown. Make sure they’re centered, and pull the cord snug, but not super tight. You’re basically crisscrossing the two cord ends through each row of beads to hold them in place. Next add on 3 beads in the same way.
Start adding your middle and end rows. You’ll add one more bead in each row, going all the way up to 9 beads in the very last row. When you get the last row done, you’ll take your cord ends back up into the next to last row.
Thread both of the ends to the middle of the next to last row, and double knot the ends snugly. Trim the ends off, and tuck them inside the beads.
And you’re all done!! I hope you enjoyed making this Pony Bead Candy Corn Project with me, and I’ll have more up very soon for you!
