All of our kids are looking for things to do right now, and I just love easy crafts with minimal supplies that kids can make without supervision. We’re going to learn to make Pipe Cleaner Flower Rings that even little kids can easily make on their own.

Yes, I said you can give your kids a pile of pipe cleaners and let them entertain themselves while you take a shower, have a snack in peace, or catch up on your favorite Netflix series. Plus, these are really cute and can be made extra special with different colors or even sparkly pipe cleaners. Let’s get started!

Supplies:

  • 1 pipe cleaner for your leaves

Start by taking your three flower pipe cleaners and hold them together so the ends are even. Twist them right in the middle about 4-5 times. Now you’re going to wrap it around the finger you’re going to wear it on. I recommend wrapping it around your knuckle to make sure it can slide on and off your finger easily. Make sure the ends are even.

Twist the ends together one or two times, forming the ring. Make sure that it doesn’t tighten down too much on your finger. Slide it off, and open the ends of the pipe cleaners out evenly like shown. Take one of the ends, and bend the very tip inwards.

Using the bent tip as your starting point, start rolling the pipe cleaner inwards so it forms a swirl. Do this with all the pipe cleaners.

Once they’re all bent into swirls, take the swirls and gently move them around until they form a flower shape. Now you’re going to take your pipe cleaner for the leaves and place the center at the base of the flower. Wrap it around once. Now you’re going to roll the pipe cleaner ends in to form swirls just like you did with the flower.

Next you’re going to pinch the ends of the swirls to squish them into a leaf shape. And you’re all done! Isn’t it cute? You can make one of these in less than 5 minutes once you’ve practiced a few times. Now go ahead and make a whole bunch in different colors.
