Love it or hate it, Candy Corn is a staple of the Halloween season. When I was teaching I used it for counting games. Now, I use it for party styling. My kids love it, especially the little pumpkins. I am not really a fan myself, but I do love a cute candy corn craft! And this darling paper plate candy corn banner is as simple to make as it is adorable. It’s perfect to decorate a classroom or even the house, and it is super affordable!
Paper Plate Candy Corn Banner
You can alternate the candy corn with these printable banner letters to turn this craft into a fun message!
Candy Banner Craft Supplies:
- Paper Plate.
- Yellow and orange paint – I mixed red and yellow to make orange.
- Paint brush.
- Scissors.
- Hole punch.
- Ribbon
This project is a great season craft for older elementary school kids to do while learning about the radius and circumference of a circle in math too! I loved letting the bigger kids do fun crafts while teaching them about math and science.
Begin by adding a ring of yellow paint around the edge of the paper plate. Then, add a ring of orange (or yellow and red) paint just inside the rim of the plate. Be sure to leave a circle in the middle of the plate without paint.

Then, paint the edge of the plate yellow. Next, paint the inner edge orange.
Allow the paint on your paper plate candy corn banner to dry completely. You can use this time to teach the kids about the radius and circumference of a circle.
After the paint has fully dried, you can cut the plate into 6 sections.
Now, use a paper punch to punch a small hole in the top of the paper plate candy corn. Then, lace the ribbon through the holes.
