When I was a teacher I worked in lower income areas, so our budget for extras was nonexistent. But, I always wanted my little learners to celebrate holidays like I did as a child. However, we had to do all of our celebrating on a shoestring budget. And this paper plate basket craft was one of our favorite Easter crafts. The kids made their paper plate baskets and I would fill them with small treats.

Let’s get started on this cute little project! First, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier.
Begin by cutting the paper plates in half. Then, glue the halves together, but leave the top section open.
Next, cut strips of construction paper.
Then, glue and weave the paper onto the paper plates.

After the glue is dry, trim any excess paper off the basket. Then, add a strip of paper to the top to create a handle.
Finally, fill it with Easter grass and small Easter treats. I used some of the extra green strips of paper, and folded them accordion style instead of using grass.
That’s it! This is such a fun craft to do with and for your little ones. And, I hope it has inspired you to make a sweet paper plate basket craft project with your little ones!
