Supplies:
- Brown and pink construction paper
- Glue stick
- Stapler
- Pencil
- Scissors
- Ruler
Start by marking down two inches on the long side of your brown construction paper, and draw a line across. Then mark down another two inches from there and draw a second line. Cut them both out, and you’ll have two long 2 inch wide strips.

Staple two ends of the strips together to make one long strip. Next, measure it around your child’s head and staple the other ends together so it will fit on their head. Trim off any excess. Now you have the base of your headband!
It’s time to make our kangaroo ears! Take a piece of 12 inch long brown construction paper and fold it in half like shown. Use your pencil and sketch out a general kangaroo ear shape. It should be pointy at the top and flat at the bottom, and the flat bottom should land on the fold of the paper. Cut it out.
Now open it up, and you have two identical ears! Just cut them apart. To make the inside of the ears, set your big ear on a piece of pink construction paper. Trace around it.
And then you’re going to sketch where you want the pink inside ear to be. Then fold the paper in half along the flat base of the ear just like we did for the brown ones. Cut along the inner ear that you drew, open it up, and cut along the fold line to separate the two inner ears!

Check and make sure the pink inner ear looks good on the brown outer ear, and then use your glue stick to glue the inner ears onto the outer ears!
All we need to do to finish this is to set the ears inside the top rim of the headband, and staple them in place! You’re all done!
