I love Summer arts and crafts with little ones! I feel like we can get a little messy, and clean it all up with water play. And, this handprint fish art project is high on the list of favorite Summer crafts.

Summer Fish Art Supplies:

  • Bubbles.
  • Food Coloring.
  • Craft paint and paint brushes.
  • Cardstock paper.
  • Optional – paint pens.

This is such a fun way for your little ones to make on a Summer afternoon.

Let’s get started on this fun Handprint Fish Art Project! First, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier. 

Begin by adding food coloring to regular bubbles. Add a lot, and then add a lot more. Bubbles will dilute it, but you want the color to be as bold as possible. I used a mix of blue and green food coloring for this project.  

Then, let your little crafters blow bubbles onto a sheet of cardstock paper. This step will be messy, and it is probably best to do it outside or on a plastic tablecloth.  

After the bubble paint has dried, you can create the handprint fish. Begin by painting your little one’s hand. Use a bright color so it stands out against the bubbles. 

Once the handprint has dried, use more paint or a marker to add a face and stripes on the fish.
