Cut out each hand and set aside.

Next, make the letter C with your hand, but bend your middle finger up, so the C has a bump on the top. Now, trace it onto the sheet of darker green construction paper. This will be your dragon’s head. Then, cut out the tracing.

Now, use the yellow and orange construction paper to cut out flames for the dragon’s mouth. Then, use a little more yellow construction paper to cut out spikes for the dragon’s head.

Now, you’re ready to start assembling your Hand Print Dragon!

Use a glue stick and apply glue to the underside of the dragon’s head and mouth, and attach the flames and spikes. Then, add glue to the back of the whole dragon head, including the mouth and the flames and glue it to the top part of the red construction paper. Now, cut a small black circle from the scrap of black construction paper and glue it onto the front of the dragon as an eye.

Next, apply glue to the back of the hand prints you cut out earlier. Place the first one just slightly over the bottom of the dragon’s head. Then, layer each subsequent hand print on to the one above it. Add curves if you want to make the Handprint Chinese New Year dragon look like it’s dancing.
