One of my absolute favorite books as a child was D’Aulaires’ Book of Greek Myths. The illustrations are just gorgeous, and in fact, it is the only book from my childhood that I still have today! We won’t say how old that book is. Ahem.
The stories of Zeus, Apollo, Aphrodite and the rest of the Greek mythology characters are fascinating. For more background on these ancient Greek stories and characters, check out GreekMythology.com. As gruesome as they can be, I’m a big fan of Greek mythology and the ancient Greek gods and goddesses. Isn’t it fascinating how differently they viewed the world back then?

Mythical Creatures Coloring Pages
The Harry Potter and Narnia books have enchanted readers for years, and have helped to create a modern interest in the ancient Greek mythical creatures such as the centaur, cyclops and griffin. We love mythical creatures too! (We also love Harry Potter and Narnia, just in case you were wondering!).
