I was at the store recently and picked up a beautiful hyacinth bulb. My niece loves flowers. So, she immediately noticed the gorgeous pink flowers the last time she visited. She even asked if we could move the vase into the living room while she was there so she could smell the flowers. So, we decided to make a pretty Fingerprint Hyacinth Art Project for her to enjoy at home until I could get her her very own plant. This is the perfect spring art project. Now, let’s make our own fingerprint flowers!

Fingerprint Hyacinth Art Project
Supplies:
- 1 piece of white construction paper.
- Green construction paper scraps.
- Glue.
- Scissors.
- Red and white or pink paint.
- Green crayon.
- Optional – Essential oils
This project was so much fun! Begin by mixing your red and white paint to make pink. Or, you can use a pre-made pink, purple, or blue paint for this project. If you have any essential oils, add a drop to the paint and mix it well. This will make the flowers smell almost as beautiful as the real ones that inspired this project!

Use the green crayon or pencil to draw the flower stem in the middle of the white construction paper.
Then, dip your finger into the paint and add flower blooms along the stem. Be sure to add blooms on each side of the stem about three quarters of the way down the stem. Dip your fingertip back in the paint as often as necessary.
While the paint dries, cut out leaves from the green construction paper scraps. We folded the paper in half and cut mirror image leaves for our hyacinth art project.
Now, add a dot of glue to the leaves and glue them under the fingerprint flower blooms.
That’s it! Your Fingerprint Hyacinth Art Project is all done, and you’re ready for Spring!
