DIY Turkey Bowling Game

Thanksgiving time was always a struggle when I was a teacher and the boys were younger. The kids wanted to skip over Thanksgiving entirely after the excitement of Halloween. And, truthfully, so did I. But, the week before Thanksgiving break in my classroom, and the week of Thanksgiving with my boys, we would craft and play games. And, one of our favorite games was our DIY Turkey Bowling Game.

Make your Thanksgiving extra fun with these printable photo props, too!

Bowling Game Supplies:

• Six empty plastic bottles.
• Paint and paint brushes.
• Feathers or construction paper.
• Googley eyes.
• Hot glue gun or school glue. 
• Scissors.
• Small pumpkins. 

This fun game is super easy and can be done by elementary school and even younger crafters with very little supervision. Or, you can make it yourself and have it set up and ready to play. 

Let’s get started on this fun DIY Turkey Bowling Game! Firstly, gather all of your supplies. This will make crafting a lot easier.

First, paint the clean plastic bottles. We used small apple juice bottles and washed them in soap and hot water.  

Then, once the paint is dry, use the hot glue gun to add feathers to the bottles. However, you can cut out construction paper feathers if you don’t want to use craft feathers. 

Now, add the googley eyes and a little beak and waddle if you want. Then you can paint the eyes, beak, and waddle on the bottles too.

Finally, set up the turkey bowling pins on a level surface in a triangle shape. Place three bottles in the back row. Then, add two bottles in front of them. Place the last bottle in front of the two bottles. Then, use the small pumpkins as a bowling ball and knock down those turkey pins!
