If you’re hair clips don’t match the rhinestones you have, go ahead and grab a nail polish that matches your rhinestones. Nail polish is enamel, so it’s great for coating hair clips. Clip your hair clips onto a paper towel to protect the part that slides into your hair, and then paint the with a thin layer of your polish. Let them dry completely. I let mine dry overnight.
Get all your supplies together, and put your glue of choice on a piece of paper. I recommend using a strong hold glue that’s flexible, and you only need a little bit.
Working in small sections, use your toothpick to spread a small amount of glue on the hair clip. Grab a rhinestone with your tweezers, and start placing them on your clip. Keep them close together, but make sure to leave a little space between them going down the sides of the clip. Since it needs to bend to open and close, if you put them too close together they may squish together and pop off when you open the clip. Also, make sure to the glue is cupping around each rhinestone. If it’s not, you’ll want to use a bit more glue to make sure they stay in place.
When all of your clips are covered in rhinestones, let them dry for at least 24 hours before wearing!
The glue dries clear, and you have gorgeous sparkly hair clips!
