My little niece loved making snow paint so much during the winter, she asked if we could make it again. So, with we made more with a colorful little twist. She loved making this DIY Puffy Paint Rainbow Craft so much, I can imagine we will make it again several more times in the future! This is a great sensory project for kids of all ages, and if you use nontoxic shaving cream, it is perfectly safe for even the youngest artists.

DIY Puffy Paint Rainbow Craft
Supplies:
- 1 piece of white construction paper or cardstock.
- Glue.
- Nontoxic shaving cream.
- Food coloring.
- Paint Brush.
Begin by squirting several dollops of shaving cream on a paint pallet. You don’t need to be precise with this. Then, add a little bit of glue to each dollop of shaving cream. Again, you don’t need to be precise. The glue keeps the shaving cream from dissolving. Finally, add two drops of food coloring to all but one shaving cream and glue glob. Remember that red and yellow make orange, yellow and blue make green, and red and blue make purple. Use a craft stick to mix the glue, shaving cream, and food coloring together.

Now, you are ready to paint! You can use a paint brush or paint with your fingers for this project. We painted a big puffy rainbow with clouds on either side. I used this opportunity to teach my niece about the ROY G. BIV – red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet – colors in a rainbow.
This DIY Puffy Paint Rainbow Craft is perfect for St. Patrick’s Day, rainy day art projects, or even unicorn party activities.
That’s it! I hope you enjoyed painting the rainbow.
