Here’s our newest collection of poems for every month of the year! These 6 poems wax poetic (ha!) about how wonderful the month of December is, but they aren’t about Christmas. (The Christmas kids poems are over here instead!) Themes include snow (of course!), snow geese, and pondering the end of a year, and the start of a new year! (Although we will soon have a whole set of poems just for New Years!). Some are short, some are longer, but all will be fun for kids to read (or be read to).
Poems are great for expanding students’ vocabulary skills, for understanding rhymes and poetic writing structures, and for creative writing inspiration.
