Crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe

Today I’m sharing my family’s very favorite recipe, one that totally beats the store bought version, and easily rivals most restaurant versions too! This Crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe is fast to prep, cooks all day, and requires little to no “hands-on” cooking time. That makes it perfect for those super busy days, or days when you won’t be home until late and want a hot dinner ready in less than 5 minutes. I also like serving this at parties because you can make a whole bunch of it and keep it warm in the crockpot. This is one of those no-recipe recipes that I love because there’s no measurements, and if you make it once you’ll remember how to forever. Here’s what you’ll need!

Ingredients:

  • Boneless pork loin. You can use pork butt as well, but we like to be able to easily remove the fat. At least 3 pounds to feed a family of 6.
  • Your favorite BBQ sauce. You’ll want two bottles.
  • Your favorite hamburger buns. I recommend ones that are sturdy and big.

Open up your pork loin and pop it into your crockpot. Add water until the pork is covered by at least 2 inches of water. Pop the lid on and cook it on high for at least 8 hours. The longer you let it cook, the more tender it will be.

When it’s all done, just remove the pork loins to a cutting board and remove the top layer of fat if you prefer. Then take two forks, and shred the meat apart. It should fall apart beautifully. Add a generous amount of your favorite BBQ sauce, and mix well. If you’re planning on serving this buffet style at a party, place the meat back in your crockpot, add a little extra sauce, and set it to warm to keep everything at a nice temperature while guests serve themselves. If you’re having it for dinner right away like we were, just get that meat on a bun, add more bbq on top if you LOVE bbq sauce like I do, and you’re all set!

Serve it with a side of chips or potato salad, and you have a super easy dinner! I hope your family loves this Crockpot BBQ Pulled Pork Recipe as much as mine does!
