A couple of years ago, my sister-in-law and her family gave everyone ice cream makers. So, when I came across this awesome idea on Family Bites, I knew it would be the perfect present for them. I’d like to add that this would be an awesome Valentine’s gift or teacher’s gift, too!
I made a few modifications to the original idea, mostly for cost effectiveness and speed.

What you need to make an ice cream sundae gift box:
- Four sundae dishes
- Ice cream cones
- Toppings (we used mints, sprinkles, gummy bears, and peanuts)
- Tissue paper
- Ribbon
- Sauces (if desired) such as caramel, hot fudge, etc.
I got the sundae glasses at a thrift store for $1.00 each!

Wrap each sundae glass with plastic cling wrap, and gather at the top with a ribbon.

At the last minute, I decided that we needed to add in a sauce, so I made a really simple caramel sauce on the stove and poured it into a clean jar.
Since we gave this gift to my sister-in-law’s family, both she and her husband have made a point to message me and tell me how much they all love it. She even said it was the kids’ favorite gift from Christmas and that they’d been having sundaes for dessert quite often lately!
What I Learned the Hard Way: Just because you have an awesome box doesn’t mean all your stuff is going to fit in it! I actually ended up leaving the lid off and wrapping the front of it with more cling wrap to hold everything in place.
