Construction Paper Turkey Hat Craft
Turkey Hat Craft Supplies:
- Brown, red, orange, and white construction paper.
- Scissors.
- School glue.
- Black crayon.
This is a great project to do with the little ones while they are on Thanksgiving break. But, it’s also a great classroom art project to work on the week before Thanksgiving!
If you are making these with really little ones, I would suggest pre-cutting the pieces. If your kids are a little older and good with scissors, have them cut out all of the pieces.
This project can be made with scraps of paper, which I love. And, if the kids are cutting out all of the pieces themselves, it will take a little while to cut and assemble this cute construction paper turkey hat.

Start by cutting out a beak, two eyes, and a turkey gobble. Then, cut out two inch strips of brown construction paper length-wise. Finally, color a black circle in each of the eyes. We did not add the black circles to the eyes until after we glued them, and it was a little more difficult.
Now that everything is cut, add a little bit of glue to the middle of one of the strips of brown paper. Next, add the beak, eyes, and gobble to the strip where you added the glue. Then, add a few lines of glue to one end of the brown construction paper and secure the second strip to the first one.
Allow the glue to fully dry and then wrap the turkey hat around your little one’s head. Mark where the strip of paper needs to be, and glue it in place. If your little ones are anxious to wear their turkey hat right away, add a little bit of tape over the glue.
