We’ve received such a positive response to our mystery picture coloring sheets. So we’re excited to share with you a brand new set of nine animal grid coloring pages. This screen-free activity uses a data table and pixels to reveal mystery images. Our animals in this set include a cat and a dog. Also included is a pig, a fox, a mouse, a chicken and a cow. (My personal favorite among these pages is the owl.)
Grid coloring pages are simple, yet take some time. Use the cross points in the table to identify the coordinates and then color the square (or “pixel”) the designated color. There’s no need to print the answer key, unless needed for reference. Not seeing it ahead of time definitely enhances the mystery aspect of this exercise. And your child will experience so much gratification and success in revealing the mystery object! Instructions are included on every page. Here’s a closeup example of the coloring grid directions:

Teachers, this is another effective way to incorporate STEAM into your classroom. Print this set or another mystery pictures set from our archives and use it as a math station.
